Abstract:
GTAW is a widely used welding process in industry. It has advantageous mechanical and metallurgical properties over other welding processes such as GMAW. In order to obtain optimal welding conditions, it’s vital to optimize the welding parameters. Commercial steel also referred as mild steel is often used for construction that needs to yield tensile strength. The later was reported to be sensitive to the hardness of welding. The work is to investigate the influence or effect of the transverse tensile strength and hardness of mild steel welding made by semi-controlled GTAW at a variation of groove shape, welding current, and welding speed. The analysis made with Taguchi’s design orthogonal array technique to demonstrate the effect of the welding parameters and optimize these parameters on the tensile strength of the welding. The results showed that higher transverse tensile strength showed higher welding hardness (i.e., 232 MPa and 2555 VHN shown at V-shaped welding). The tensile strength and hardness increased at lower welding current (170 A), V-shaped welding, and higher welding speed (150 mm/min). This combination has shown optimal conditions for stronger and highly effective GTAW welding. The increased internal stresses in welding caused lower transverse tensile strength and hardness of welding. Possibly the lower interpass heat input to increase and thus, lower transverse tensile strength of welding.

Telemedicine technology has witnessed an increasing interest in healthcare institutions to provide health services to patients during outbreaks of epidemics due to the precautionary measures taken by many countries around the world. Many patients received ongoing, regular telemonitoring from their healthcare providers. However, the success of telemedicine is highly dependent on physicians' acceptance. Despite all the benefits associated with the use of this technology and its applications, it is not given the required consideration in Libyan health institutions. This paper explores physicians' knowledge and perceptions of telemedicine technology in hospitals. This study aimed to assess the level of knowledge possessed by physicians regarding telemedicine and their perceptions of its use in hospital settings. A survey was conducted for physicians working in a private Libyan hospital, where the sample used in the study was 60, and the questionnaire was distributed to them. The results of the study showed that (70.4%) of the physicians know about telemedicine, although they are not familiar with its applications, as they did not attend introductory lectures on telemedicine in their workplaces. The results provided insights into the current understanding and attitudes of clinicians towards telemedicine technology, which can guide strategies for its effective integration into healthcare systems. However, the results indicated some potential barriers when using telemedicine, including the need for training, poor infrastructure, financial issues, and lack of human resources to operate the equipment, which negatively affects the application of telemedicine in Libyan hospitals.

Omar, Hanin
Based on the goals of the Training and Continuous Learning Unit regarding the enhancement of the teaching staff's efficiency, coordination has been made with Dr. Khabab Abdul-Monim to organize a workshop on teaching skills compared to presentation skills. This workshop enabled the university staff to understand the difference between these two skills and to perform their tasks with ease.
