Team-based learning (TBL) Sessions begin for Fourth Year Students at the Faculty of Pharmacy for the Academic Year 2020/2021

The first team-based learning (TBL) session for fourth year students at the Faculty Pharmacy for the academic year 2020/2021 has started on Thursday, 15th of October. The TBL session is within the fifteenth educational block entitled Neurological & Psychological Disorders. Moreover, the individual evaluations (iRAT) and the group evaluations (tRAT) within the TBL sessions are carried out electronically via Moodle and inside the university's TBL halls. Noting that the team-based learning strategy is applied in the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Libyan International Medical University in an innovative way in which the curricula and educational objectives of the professional stage of the PharmD program are integrated. Within the sessions, the various disease cases and their proposed treatment plans are discussed in the Case Application Session. It is worth noting that the Faculty of Pharmacy is the first and only Faculty in Libya whose students’ study within the PharmD program, which is an accredited program that grants a Bachelor's degree to pharmacists who are able to provide pharmaceutical care to the patient. The Faculty of Pharmacy at the Libyan International Medical University adopts modern curricula and teaching methods and student-centered learning strategies within an interactive education system where teaching takes place at the Faculty from the first year untill graduation over a period of five years. Teaching takes place using problem-based learning, team-based learning and research-based learning strategies.
