| dc.description.abstract | The presence of bacteria in correctly collected urine of a patient who has no signs or symptoms of a urinary tract infection is known as asymptomatic bacteriuria. Asymptomatic bacteriuria affects 15% of women and men between the ages of 65 and 80. Bacterial growth was not noticeable in the males. Bacterial growth was seen in more than half of the females in the study. The urine specimen was collected using the midstream catch method. The number of colony-forming units (CFUs) per milliliter of urine is used to make a diagnosis. | en_US |
